Steve is a research scientist with his head in the stars! He took up the ukulele late in life as his first serious attempt at learning to play a musical instrument. More recently he took up playing the bass to expand his musical knowledge and repertoire and this became his main instrument for performances. As with most bass players, apart from a few notable examples, he is happy not to inflict his singing voice on audiences!

Janet

Janet took up the ukulele as a New Year’s resolution over 10 years ago (the only one she has ever kept) having very little musical experience before then. Janet is inspired by her music and ukulele teacher Darren Watson (of Northern Live - Do I Love You fame) to continue to push herself even beyond her comfort zone 😁

Craig

Craig works as a civil servant and has studied drama 🎭 at college. He has performed historically with a musical theatre company Innovations from Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Also, Craig played Lead Role, Billy, in the musical Anything Goes with the Market Harborough Operatic Society. In the last two years, his love of singing led him to take up the ukulele with the Market Harborough Ukulele Group and he is keen to raise money for charities through his performing.

Stuart

Gail

Gail has recently retired from a 32 year career as a primary school teacher, specialising (for the last 10 years) teaching curriculum music including recorder and ukulele instrument lessons. Her love of music began in secondary school where she performed in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas such as The Gondaliers, Trial by Jury, The Pirates of Penzance, Ruddigore and The Mikado. Gail went on to become a member of the Market Harborough Operatic Society performing in Anything Goes and The Mikado and joined Innovations performing Magic of the Musicals tours, Godspell and Our Day Out. As well as ukulele, she plays descant and tenor recorder, violin and piano.
